hello again......Phoebe sounds like an amazing haul. It's strange what people throw away isn't it. I have very eclectic tastes and I love to mix things up. Although I don't like A lot of clutter And can't abide "twee" I Think all brand new and matchy matchy would be a bit sterile for me. I love to add colour and texture, and throw in the odd "surprise".I treated myself to a sweet little painting in Next, with the voucher DS2 gave me, it's only a print not an original of course but it's pretty and I think it goes well. Then today I have ordered a bookcase, only a basic Mexican pine one bit I shall paint it. I have several pieces of Mexican pine furniture which I have revamped. Although they are self assembly they are good solid wood and they can be easily painted and customised. They are unbelievably cheap too. I do like to look for nice preloved pieces That I can revamp but prices have been rising and sometimes a brand new piece of Mexican pine is actually cheaper.I'll post some of my recent art finds.....😂6

Bought today. The bedroom isn't actually finished yet, the line you can see is the join in the Walrock insulating paper which I put up as an experiment on an uninsulated outside wall. It actually works well and the wall seems much warmer. I just sloshed some emulsion on top as a temporary measure. It does need decorating properly but I haven't found the right wall paper yet. Anyway the painting helps cover it up a bit for now.

I found this colourful lady in a market in the Caribbean. She's an original and I just love how vibrant and colourful she is. I only paid 20US dollars but she brings back memories of sunshine.

This hangs in my dining room. It's only a printed canvas, not original but I really like it. Its actually a big piece, it's a long wall And can take it. £4 from a Chazzer. Bargain. 😂
I am in dire need of some more art. I have several large pieces which people have donated to me but which I'm not that keen on. As a temporary measure I am tempted to try and paint over them myself or maybe cover them with some nice fabric. A project for winter.7 -

Love your vibrant Caribbean lady, LL and your new pic is so calming, perfect for the bedroom. Your charity shop find is fab, too
Your Caribbean painting reminds me of our wonderful holiday in St. Lucia back in 2004. Unfortunately we didn't bring anything like that back, just some coconut carvings (long gone)......although I do have a rather lovely ring DH bought me in Castries
I thought I'd share some of mine - the first is my (not quite finished) oversized artwork originally painted for the snug but now residing in the equally unfinished bathroom (that door will eventually be moved, lol!)....
This is our Homesense purchase - I love her grim expression and the way they've overlaid tattoos on her period person! Again, it's hard to see but the background colour is a perfect match for some of our 'brinjal' accessories!
Here's the painting we were given (the colours are much brighter irl, I took this in our dimly lit building site, lol!).....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Fab pictures....never heard of Homesense but love the tattooed lady.Silly me....just googled it and realised it is part of TK Maxx. 😂🤣. I had a mooch round there today, I didn't buy anything although I did see a nice sofa throw I'm quite tempted with.6

Good morning ladies, haven’t posted for ages, but love it hen others do, so thought I should. Loving the art pieces, particularly love your painted caribbean lady LL...shen is gorgeous and love the vibrancy and light in pic. Keep the art coming!
we had a funny champagne walk into ton last week. on way in hubby bent down and picked up 10p bit, then outside sainsbob he saw a 50p pice. funny really, I don’t think he would a) ever be looking before lockdown. b). picked up anything before lockdown! then on way home, he bent down into gutter and picked up something and it was a folded £5 note! soon as I rushed home, I squirrelled away £5.60 into my stocks and shares ISA for retirement. totally made my day. even though today i still a work day, neither of us have too much on, so when he asked if we should go shopping for food for weekend and walk into town, I enthusiastically said yes🤣🤣🤣
feeling a bit blah this week, hopefully this weekend sunshine forecast will materialise and that will help brighten my mood. don’t know what it is, just lockdown blah I think.
