Tax Relief & Mortgages

Hello,

Does anybody know if lenders take in to account tax relief in the same way they do tax credits?

I receive a significant rebate for business milage each year as a lump sum - which would have a positive effect on the amount I can borrow if taken in to account.

Thanks

The relief is merely in essence reimbursement of expenditure already incurred. Not additional income.

As above. It is not income, just a refund of what you have already spent.
IF you go to a lender who assess affordability based on your actual expenditure (rather than ONS figures) you may be able to get the lending amount altered, but most lenders just use ONS figures.
