Worth it ? If you intend to live for more than 4 years post state retirement age it is a no brainer. A one off payment of <£800 gives you £250 a year, increasing annually with inflation, for the rest of your life. Where else will you get that ? MrsM & myself will be donating around £5K to that worthy cause next year to help out the government coffersI'll have to work out whether its worth paying the Voluntary Class3 contribution (£13 a week?, for the next 5-6 years), at first sight it doesn't feel like it is.

Poor health, for example? Unless you have a life-limiting condition, it's usually a pretty safe bet you'll get more out than you've paid in extra for those NI years.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
