Groupon SANTA code

Has anyone tried using the latest groupon code for locals deals which is up to 25% using the SANTA code? when i try to use the code it comes up saying code wont apply to this purchase - see t&cs. But the T&Cs in their FAQs are not specific to this code. I spent 30 mins on live chat with them and they wouldn't answer the question, then 20 mins calling them with the same response. Asked to be put through to a supervisor and they cut me off!
So has anyone got any suggestions why it wont work?
