Hi all,

So I've sat and read every single possible thread I could find on Virgin Money mortgages! My timeline looks like the following;

05/10/18 - Offer Submitted (House listed for 90k and offered 82k due to it needing a new kitchen/ other bits)
05/10/18 - Offer Accepted
06/10/18 - Mortgage application submitted and accepted, Virgin Money (via broker Habito)
06/10/18 - Paid for valuation
07/10/18 - Money taken from account for valuation
08/10/18 - Checked credit report to see that they've credit checked me using the wrong DOB!!!

I've emailed my broker this morning with a copy of my credit report showing that they're using the wrong DOB. I think this is an error with the broker/ Virgin as I have sent them all of my correct information including a copy of my passport. Now i'm super nervous that it'll be declined because of their error!

Has anyone else used Virgin Money recently? And more so had to amend their DOB :sad:

I'm already losing the will to live waiting for an answer and now this :sad:

  • Quick update! DOB fixed, now having to send a gifted deposit letter back to the lender.

    Some of the deposit is coming from my boyfriend, he currently owns his own house and will not have any ties to my property. He's merely helping me get out of the rented market and into my own home, how much of an issue do you think this will be?

    It's not a large sum of money either!

    Ask your broker. They'll know Virgin's criteria on the topic. Generally gifts need to come from family members not third parties.
