Halifax mortgage with defaults

Hello, i was wondering if anyone could help? We have just applied for a mortgage with Halifax. We have a 10% deposit, my husband has a steady income earning 34,000 before tax annually, i am a stay at home parent.
However we both have settled defaults on our credit reports, my husbands was for a credit card which racked up to £2600 (this was fraud but we cant report as it was a very close family member who took it out in his name) and mine was for £81 through a catalogue.. the defaults are both due to be cleared next year.
What are our chances? Halifax have booked in the valuation but the wait is terrifying not knowing if we will pass the underwriters!
Many thanks in advance.

Halifax are a lender that carry out a soft foot print when doing an initial search, saying that if there is anything unacceptable to them they would usually give an alternate lending decision and ask for more deposit so in all likelihood your 10% deposit is OK
You should be ok i would think if they are due to drop off next yearI am a Mortgage Broker

My situation is different as just remortgaging and have fairly decent LTV...however they were happy to ignore two satisfied CCJ"s,which i was very surprised at.
Spoke to them direct (soft search) but went through broker in the end and they did say Halifax tend to be more lenient than others.0
