I'm a member of both but stopped using topcashback almost 3 years ago when they claimed that Argos had not paid them so they could not pay me. They said that argos told them I had returned an item. I had not and I had an email from Argos stating that I still had my purchase but this was not good enough for topcashback. The one and only time I had a payment refused when using Quidco, they paid out of their own coffers hence my preference for them.
As for the merger, I'm against it if it means that the new company imports any of topcashback's business practices.0 -
This merger would massively reduce competition in the market. You regularly find that TopCashback and Quidco offer exclusive Cashback rates and promotions - so any reduction in the number of market participants would seriously hamper competition. Considering the fact that Quidco and TopCashback are widely regarded as the two leading cashback sites (and often people are only familiar with Quidco and TopCashback), any merger would be detrimental to competition. If your remit is to encourage competition within the market and discourage anti-competitive behaviour, this merger should clearly be blocked.0

Stopped using TCB when two travel trips failed to track and I lost around £80. Vowed never to return.0

Originally used Quidco until insurance cashbacks 'didn't track' so then joined TCB. I use both sites but have recently only been using Quidco because of all the bonus offers over the past few weeks, TCB haven't responded and have done no promotions at all lately.0

I use both. Used them more in the past but check them when booking holidays or short breaks. They are good for comparing insurance quotes. I like them to be seperate as one can be better than the other but it good to compare. I used their food shopping cashback apps a lot when i shopped at asda but now i am a lidl and Aldi shopper so their deals dont apply as much.
I try to only use them if price is same with or without using them, sometimes tracking with them the quote is increased more than going directly through to the website as cashback is never guaranteed.0 -
I have used quidco for about 8 years , mostly for 60 plus hotel bookings each year , and mostly through Accor hotels .
Many times,... that's about 20% failed to track
even-though i cleared cookies , and restarted the browser before each booking)
But i persisted with Quidco and put in a claim, which takes time to chase up even at my end , and after about 12 months Quidco would finally pay up!
Then one day i decided to give TCB a try and found them to be better at paying out quicker, and have not rejecting any claims so far ...
But Back to my problems with Quidco !......
Now quidco have really started to annoyed me first by using bait such as up to 20% cash back....
then after getting you to part with your cash, not paying out , even after waiting 14 months for the anticipated cash back .
And yes all of my rejected purchases did track
and as you can see below I am still chasing Quidco !
I have migrated most of my business to TCB who at the moment pay out quicker:THi Quidco
I used to put all my 60 Accorhotel bookings a year successfully through you , especially when you offered to share some of your large commissions with me, and on a special event of up to 20% cashback in October 2017, So i went slightly crazy and booked 9 different hotels , and being a Quidco veteran of 8 years , i remembered to close my browser and deleted all my cookies and stuff before each new booking , so it took about 3 hours !
Imagine my surprise after 14 months that you indicate that all these special bookings have now mysteriously all been declined , all 185 pounds worth !
This is the odd bit i don't get, since you sent me 9 successful cashback has being tracked e-mails0 -
I use them as it is a great way to get a bit of extra money, I only use these two. I'd prefer them separate just for exclusive deals, but I'm not entirely against the merger.0

I use both, basically because it's free money. I usually use it for car insurance and breakdown cover as it helps with the savings each year. Often TC and Quidco will have different offers, more % on one site than the other so I usually check them both out.
If they merged it would restrict competition and the savings would reduce.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0
