Payday Loan Companies/Arresting Earnings

Hi,

Can Payday/short term loan companies arrest earnings via a court?
I thought I waqs finally debt free but an old loan has resurface with the collection agency (Same company as the loan provider under a different name) advise they have approached the court about an attachment to earnings.

Wondering wether to ignore it or at least offer some sort of token payment, I dont imagine their attempts at deducting straight from my earnings would be successful.

Thanks

I wouldn't ignore it unless you're happy with them having an attachment of earnings. Why do you think they won't get it - are you not working?

Better to agreement a repayment plan on mutual terms, rather than just theirs.
  • Its been sent to some Legal Services mob anyway, Ill arrange some sort of token payment with them for monthly instalments.

Yeah, Im on temporary low income,so even taking a full months wage would only cover about half of it.
  • I should add, the company that my file has apparently been sent to do have a website, but no reviews, feedback, discussion elsewhere etc
