Thanks very much for your reply. Re your ‘No’ to 1. above, I was thinking the period of absence of up to 3 years for any reason would apply if renting during that that time since if you are renting then the rented place would not be a dwelling house eligible for relief (given you do not own it). However, from what I can see now, even when you rent it is still deemed a dwelling house eligible for relief and hence you would have to nominate the place you do actually own (and have moved out of) within 2 years in order for the period of absence to be allowable?0 -
