AEO Fine on pay slip- how do find out who?

Hi,
On my pay slip I’ve had £258 deducted for an aeo fine, google has helped kind of explain what this is... but I genuinely have no idea what it’s for. I’ve had no emails or letters. I’ve not had any debts, I actually finally paid off my debts about 5 months ago and haven’t had any issues for a few years now.
Just want to know how I find out who/what this is for? I’m not really wanting to ask my work if possible, but if that’s the only option so be it.
I have one idea what it’s for, a fine for chucking a cigarette. Which I never got any letters for and forgot about due to moving twice in 3 months fairly recently after that! Could it be that? Anything I can do as I’m clueless

Its possible its related to that, maybe contact the local court and ask them.
What is it you want to do ?
Maybe when you moved the letters were sent about going to court.0 -
Will do, thanks.
I want to figure out what it’s for as I’m worried it could be that and I’m gonna get nearly £300 taken out of my wage for god knows how long, if it’s like a fine of a few grand which would be insane for chucking a cigarette but reckon that’s what it will end up being 0 -

If you didn't attend court the fine could be more than what it originally was hence why you have had £258 taken out.0 -
Can your employer not share with you what they've been ordered to deduct and by who?0

Ask your workplace. They already know, so no reason to be embarrassed. In my experience attachments are frequently for council tax, child support or TV licence non payment. Can also be for unpaid ccj's.
It's very strange for you not to have been told. If you really can't think of who it is, check. It might have been applied to the wrong person in error.0 -
Until your payroll can confirm what it was then it's speculation. You need to check with the payroll and then the rest of the issues can be looked at from them.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
