Consolidation of AOE's

Hi,
My OH has 2 x council tax AEO's against her wages.
Both are around £120, meaning £240 is being decucted from her wage.
We are heavily in the red each month and cannot make all of our payments. we are trying to down size house since our circumstances changed.
Am i right in hearing that we can ask for these 2 orders to be consolidated? Would this mean we only pay 1 lot of £120?

There is no facility in council tax legislation for consolidation of council tax AOEs. The only option would be for the council to withdraw one of the orders.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

With my council, you can usually persuade them not to take a second aoe as long as ongoing (current year) council tax is being paid. Once they have taken the decision to do a second aoe, then they would take some persuasion to drop it.
How much iis the total of the sums under liability orders? i.e how many months of £240 will it take to clear the debt?0
