Self employed and selling personal items

Hi all
This may seem a silly question so please bare with!
I'm a self employed gardener and this time of year it gets a bit slower workwise for me.
This year I've decided to have a big clearout of my garage and many parts and tools I no longer want I am selling on. Obviously this has nothing to do with my gardening business but I just want to make sure I don't have to in some way declare the money I am getting from selling these personal items? The money is paid to me via PayPal or bank transfer into my bank account (different one to my gardening account) can please someone confirm I am okay to do this?

I guess the only issue would be if you had claimed the cost of them as some sort of expense of the business and would need to buy replacements when business picked up again.


If however we're talking about tools that could no way be used in your business and will never be replaced for use within the business then I can't see an issue.

They are tools that I have had before I became self employed, they just pay through PayPal or bank transfer. Have sold a few household items, just having a good clear out and raising some extra cash too!
