How much notice do I have to give?
Anyone worked at Tesco and been in a similar position? I’d like to leave instantly, I’m also on Price integrity and hate it so really not looking to do anymore shifts but can they withhold any money if I leave instantly?
Cheers.

My mortified parent was let go from the T at 3 months! They ended up leaving straight away.
Just stick it out and see if you can get notice period reduced - even though you can’t bare it, when payday comes you’ll know you are justified to that full pay and not give any of it back, always leave with agreement where possible x0 -
Theres probably something written in your contract where they can charge you for breaches in the contract. So for example if you didnt show up and they had to get agency staff in they can deduct the additional costs of that from your wages. Id say it was fairly unusual though in the likes of tesco.
Theres every chance theyll refuse to give you a reference. Not too much of an issue if youve already got the job lined up and it isnt dependent on references.
You tend to find when someone gets left in the lurch like that theres a bit of resentment too. So you might find find this can lead to an increased likelihood of mistakes in the final pay. Not too much of an issue if your finances are in order, more of a problem if youre reliant on every penny of your wage. Id say this is the main concern you should have.0 -
When you first join Tesco you’ll be on a 13 week trial period so you could be let go at the end of the minimum term, or beforehand, but even so you’re meant to give a weeks’ notice regardless.
Me, personally? I would speak to your manager and see if they can help you in some way, I’ve helped out before on Price Integrity and know it’s very repetitive; if you have another job lined up, fair enough, but there could be other departments with hours you might wish to give a go on?It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
