Final settlement offers

Edit: had both offers back this week! One accepted one declined but said they’d accept £100 more. Cheeky sods didn’t pay postage so we had to pay £2 to pick up the decline letter!! Anyhow we’re not going to pay the extra £100 as it was money from a relative. Once they’ve declined an offer do they generally write again a few weeks/months later with another offer??


I’ve submitted two final settlement offers.
They both responded within the week asking for the income/outgoing statement which we provided. We stayed the money was being offered by a relative as a one off help to clear debts so essentially separate to our main income/outgoing.

We’ve not heard anything back, think it’s been over 3 weeks now. Is there a time frame for them to respond? Do we assume no response is a declined offer? Thanks for any advice x

Generally you'd expect a response within 3 weeks.

You could chase it up by phone - you often get a better result that way. Just don't allow yourself to be harassed by them.

Thank you...as if by magic just after I posted mr postman arrived with one offer of acceptance! 😀👍 hoping to see what the other one says maybe later this week otherwise yes I’ll call.
