This forum has been such a postive encouragemnt to me and my husband. We had serious debts £108 k and were in a real mess. We kept taking new ccs to pay off older ones. We decided to remortgage and to pay off the debts realising that we would still owe an awful lot. However, after reading a lot of info on this site and using specific templates I was able to get really good full and final settlements on all bar 2 of the debts..but they have agreed to £10 a month each. So much of the debt was interest that I just couldn't believ how it built up to that much. Our LBM was in May.
I did not want to face bankruptcy yet we were insolvent. By holding out for the past 4 months for settlements we were able to clear £92K with £50K. Something I thought we would never be able to do. OK, so the credit rating is shot but that's a good thing as we obviously couldn't control our spending. The advice on this board about money saving has been brill, right down to earning a little extra through mystery shopping and clicks and helping me be so much more aware of where the money goes. I have been able to budget properly for the first time in my life.

Yup, I agree!
Things arnt perfect in my life likke my credit rating but i can not be trusted with it so who cares!
The less credit i can ever get the better.
However, if it was not for the guys on here i may not be in the emotional state of relief i am in!
