Returning PCP Car

Hi Guys,

I hope someone can help me!

I took out a PCP deal with Skoda back in March for a brand new Skoda Fabia, in August, in August, I found that the car was wet inside under the drivers mat. Skoda quickly picked up my car to return it the next day saying that there was no fault and the water must have been coming off of my feet.

A couple of days later, low and behold, under the car mat was soaking again, skoda took a week this time to collect the car, they kept the car for a week and a half and returned it back to me saying they had rectified the fault! On this occasion, they had to also replace the steering wheel as it had started to wear and peel after only 5k miles! When the car was returned, it was found that there was a loose trim on the inside that had not been put back correctly and there was a chip out of my centre console where they had damaged during the repair.

All was well for a few weeks, i started to smell damp in the car, low and behold, below the mat is soaking again! Skoda took a week again to collect, and that's where it sits after a week of trying to identify the leak.

At this stage i'm pretty fed up of it and would like to return the car.

I am just curious if anyone else has had similar issues and have successfully returned a car that was on PCP.

Worth noting that the PCP deal is with Skoda directly!

Speak to the lender - best read up on rejecting faulty new car in your agreement as they have clearly failed to rectify the fault.

  • I have spoken to Skoda finance and they will be speaking directly to the dealership, in the meantime i have a courtesy car and had a phonecall yesterday from the dealer saying that they cannot find the fault! They have had it in rain etc but can't find it / replicate it.

I have images of the mat and how wet it is below and have these backed up with emails to the dealership.

Fingers crossed i get the outcome I want.

What i do to find leaks is simple get someone to jet wash the car from the outside and see if any water comes in from anywhere normally its the rubber seals that letting water in or they could use a fogging machine inside the car and see if any smoke comes outfrom under the carot again the seals thatis a quick way to find a leak i have found in the past
People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”
