Is it possible to make good puff pastry using wholemeal flour?
I cannot eat white flour but want to make dishes using puff pastry, but can't find a reliable recipe online. Does anyone have a foolproof recipe for making this?

So much in baking comes down to the type of flour used. I'm not sure the results for puff pastry will ever be comparable to white.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I personally wouldn't want to try, I can't quite see it working, although as I try to think why, I don't have a clear reason - just the way wholemeal flour behaves!
I'd go back to why you can't tolerate white flour - could you tolerate a mix, and try using 50/50. Or could you consider spelt?
I think it will be trial and error - and depending on how you want to use it, I'd consider alternatives like a savoury crumble, or hot water crust.
Let us know how you get on!0
