I finished the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer, I did find this lasted well as an undereye concealer but doesn't have enough coverage for blemishes, I did need to powder as it's a bit shiny for me and I think a shiny undereye area looks sweaty and ageing. The packaging is pointless on this product though, it's a squeezy tube with a horrid plastic brush on it, just the tube with a little nozzle would work better.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I saw the beauty pie advert on fb but didn't look any further at it. What exactly is the deal?
Having looked at it further and considered what I'd purchase, I've decided against it. It works as a subscription service so you sign up for the threshold that you want to spend each month and then are given a discounted price. The reviews look good and I wouldn't mind finding some cheaper alternatives for some of the products I use but paying the subscription each month (even though if you don't spend the allocation it rolls over) is still money being spent on a proposed "No Buy" year.
I was looking on there for a mask as mine is at the point where I'll be cutting the tube open soon however instead I have today "won" on Ebay a Decleor Herbal Clay Mask for £8.95 incl p&p so am pleased with this instead. I used to use this years ago and it was the only mask then (and probably since) that I saw a difference in my skin when applied.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. 1 UU today:
Marks and Spencer Royal Collection Rose Hand and Body Lotion - very nice but it was such an old bottle that it’s probably not available anymore!!
Stash total is 137Less is the new more0 -
VALM - I'm coming towards the end of a 200ml (salon size) tube of Decleor clay mask and I find it does absolutely nothing for my skin, it's smells good but that's it. What do you find that it does?
a flurry of uu for me
Philosophy Amazing Grace Firming Body Emulsion 946ml - I am glad to have finally finished this massive bottle, I really liked it and do find Philosophy body lotions effective but hard to get hold of.
Anatomicals Rose & Jasmine Shower Gel 250ml - gorgeous scent.
L'oreal Ever Riche Conditioner 250ml - leaves my hair soft.
Estee Lauder Beautiful Shower Gel 100ml - came with a perfume, the consistency was weird but it still smelt great and lathered well.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

My skin looked brighter when I used the mask. Haven't found one since that gives the same effect. I only like masks that are old fashioned and harden on the skin. Don't like peel offs as find them too messy, don't like rinse offs and don't like sheet masks as I find they a) don't fit and b) have too much product that doesn't absorb.
What's your favourite mask?
Funnily enough, when we were in Boots in the Trafford Centre at weekend MRM commented on the absence of Philosophy products. He actually used to enjoy buying those. I think he liked the packaging. There weren't many that smelt offensive either. I know QVC still sells the range but even their stock size seems to have diminished.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. One UU this morning:
Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner 190ml WDBA. This is probably mu HG hydrating toner. Very soothing on my skin and if my skin is irritated, this will help immediately. I will buy another bottle of this but not straight away, I'm going to use the Paula's Choice Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner to replace this.
Two GAs as well:
Avene Sun Care SPF50 Mineral Cream 50ml
Avene Sun Care SPF50 Mineral Milk 100ml
I'm sending this to someone who wants to try them who's in one of the skincare groups on Facebook that I'm in.0 -
Posted on wrong thread again!!
OPI mini - You're so Vainilla
OPI full size Don't Pretzel My Buttons
Lorac Pro Pink Mauve eyeshadow from mini Lorac Pro Matte palette
NARS Albatross highlighter
Bare Minerals Boss Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Colour
Laura Geller Balance N Brighten
Urban Decay Darkhorse eyeshadow from Naked 1 palette
No 7 GWP mini eyeshadow
Marc Jacobs Sonic Truth lipstick
Urban Decay Kinky Revolution High Colour lipgloss
NARS Orgasm blush
I have finished the bottle of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons. Had a nail polish disaster day yesterday. First applied Essie Designated DJ in the morning. Inside the house and in daylight it looked to be a gorgeous maroon colour but in work it looked bright purple. Am going to donate this to a co-worker. Then tried to apply OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons and found it had run out. Was applying streakily like tippex so it's gone. I do own a back up bottle of this for some reason so am pleased about that as it's probably my favourite nude. Then applied OPI Manicurist of Seville however again this was applying streakily and although I managed to build it up, it looks meh. Bit gutted that it's been discontinued however apparently OPI Miami Beet is a good dupe so I've put this on my Christmas Wish List. I'll have to repaint my nails tomorrow though.
The franken shadow containing the Lorac Pro Pink Mauve is steadily being used up and I'm hoping it will be gone next week. I like the mixture but find it a bit tedious having to wet my brush to apply it.
Hopefully, the Bare Minerals Gen Nude lip lacquer will be gone soon too as I've taken the stopper out and can see all the way to the bottom of the bottle. There only appears to be product on the wand itself.
Finally, the pan in the Orgasm blush is widening. I think that once I've used up the franken shadow I will crush this powder into the pot I'm using as the palette pan is small and it's going to get to the point where I won't be able to get product onto a brush.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Please consider the environmental impact of these, floss is bad enough but these are terrible, all those bits of plastic will be with us forever.
I was thinking about this the other night which is a coincidence. Have never used the single use for the above reason but even normal floss always comes in plastic containers I guess toothpicks are better but I don't feel like they do a good enough job I wonder if there could be an alternative. :think:0
