    Just be warned that if you are going to buy the large size in bulk with the intention of freezing, its best to repackage it into smaller sections first, otherwise once defrosted it will go mouldy before you have had a chance to finish it.

    Also its very crumbly once defrosted. It tastes fine but don't count on pretty slices.

    Obviously depends how long it takes for you to eat it. I currently have an 800g block that I defrosted three weeks ago - and no sign of any mould yet

    Thanks for the replies, i've read them with interest however quite like the nutty punchy taste of the Sainsbury's blue label mature cheddar, so i'll stick with it. It tastes a bit like Tickler cheese, which is just over double the price.

    Wait until you get to the last 2 inches. Green and white surface mould abound.
