Curriculum vitae and dismissal for gross misconduct

Hi there! I've been sacked recently for gross misconduct. Appealing process has started and my hopes are high but in the meantime I need to start looking for other potential jobs.
In CV, would it be better to state that employment has ended or I'm still employed with last employer? I thought I would go with the latter. It would cause less suspicion to why I'm changing employer.

What do you think the reference will say...0

Your employment is ended until such time as you are told it isn't. Do not start adding lying or misdirection to an already bad situation, or you may be trying to hide many more dismissals.0
-
If a reference is requested from that employer it will give the date when employment ended. If the date on the CV is different it is going to raise questions, and show that you have given false information. How do you think that will look to a prospective employer?0

You can ask what they will write at meeting to discuss appeal - when my brother went this way, he was told what a reference then and there would look like.
When I considered quitting my job in a regulated industry, the HR person was kindly able to tell me what they would write as a reason, so nothing to lose in asking.0 -
It ended when you were sacked - you said it yourself. You may be reinstated if your appeal is successful, but for the moment, you are, and remain, sacked.
How is lying on your CV better, in any way, to telling the truth?0 -
I was a Team Leader in chocolate factory. This position is nothing special and it wasn't that hard to get it. I wouldn't mind getting a job which is not in production/warehousing sector.
I thought, while applying to different type of job, I could say that I'm looking for a change, different career path. That would make sense and be less suspicious, if I was still employed.
Reference for a Team Leader (in my opinion) doesn't matter that much in Decontamination Technician application but if I was unemployed that would potentially raise some questions why and lead to them finding out about gross misconduct. Employer not necessarily need to get references because it's just different type of job.
I'm not a big deal, Mr Successful. I'm on very beginning of food chain.
My thought process is probably wrong but hey.. I'm here to learn!0 -
I’ve yet to meet an employer who doesn’t take references...
References aren’t about your skills. I can’t imagine a professional role won’t atleast warrant a phonecall0 -
I'd suggest just not mentioning it until you're asked, but lying really is the worst thing you can do at this point. Good luck.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

A friend has been working for more than a month now where the employer does not appear to have taken up references. (I work for her previous employing company and they were not contacted.) She found it on Gumtree!0 -
I had one job where references were not asked for, they just had a one month and three month review cycles.0
