Ignoring court docs was a big mistake
(You have not read here to ignore parking tickets or court correspondence!)
If you can afford to pay off the judgement now then do so.
Paying off in full within a month means the CCJ will get removed from the record and your credit records
If you cannot pay it all off then contact the creditor to arrange to pay it off on the drip
They can enforce unpaid CCJs using bailiffs, however they would contact you first before calling.
You don't want it to escalate to this as the costs involved in arranging bailiffs will have to be paid by you!
If you have used your real name as your forum name then you need to get MSE to change it to something truly anonymous0 -
I'm not worried about CCJ's, I am one of those people who adhere to "if you can't afford it, you don't get it", I only pay for what I can afford, and I cannot pay this off in one swoop, and probably not in a month either, I only live on ESA, and have no other income except disability which is solely for my care.
I had heard from many other websites not to pay, not from here as you say, this is my first time here as I had been searching for help again today and came across this site, but got totally confused on what I should do after reading a lot of the info here, it all just stumps me.
Would this not have to go through a court of appeal or something before they could do anything, asI feel I am being treated totally unfair after my friend had written a statement telling that I had no idea of any changes and that I had been visiting this address and parking in same location for over 17 years without any problems at all.
Thanks for your help.0 -
Since you decided not to defend the claim brought against you, the Claimant has automatically received a Judgment in his favour.
There is no point in a hearing when the Defendant, i.e. you, has decided not to challenge the claim.
You owe the Claimant the sum stated on that Judgment.
You need to pay it.0 -

.
If you have no funds to pay then worthwhile pointing this out to the Claimant and making a payment plan
If you do nothing you do run the risk this escalates to bailiffs or other enforcement (as advised the costs of enforcement get added to the amount you have been ordered to pay by Court)0 -
Thanks Quentin, I will contact them and make payment arrangements, wish I'd not followed the advice of the internet in the first place, my bad, my meds for depression just make me don't care about much at all.0
-
You should have followed OUR internet advice, just 3 weeks ago, and you'd have been happily defending the claim and with a 99% chance of success.
Too late - you ignored a court claim this month, that was fully defendable. So sad.
Please write to your MP and tell them what has happened to you - it is shocking that this scam is not illegal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon-mad
When you are on limited funds and suffering with disabilities and depression, these and many other things get ignored and overlooked, plus the medications I am on don't help when it comes to keeping up to date and keep on top of things.
I didn't come across this website until it was too late, like I said I appealed it was refused, I then went through IAS website but didn't get a reply and had to keep contacting them before I did, but by then it was too late and the costs had increased, further websites also told me not to give in to these bully's, so I ignored it, I did not know to act upon it when I got the court claim, and it got put to one side and forgotten about until this latest notice.
I agree this scam should be illegal, and assumed it was, hence why I ignored it for so long, but now I am stuck with paying it off somehow.
Is there an amount that they cannot refuse to accept, I don't know how much I can pay each week/month, all I have to live on is ESA and I am paying towards my rent and electric to the local council as well as paying for my own electric, everything is a scam to take away your money these days with no way out of it.0 -
Sad that it is, this has really progressed beyond being a parking issue.
Perhaps the best place for help is now The Debt-Free Wannabe Board where there are experts on how to manage debt with limited finances.0 -

I do not have any other debt, just this parking issue fine, I do not buy anything unless I can afford it, which is most often the case, I only have ESA, my disability (PiP) pays for my mobility and care only, I have no other income of any sort.
I'd just like to know what I should do when contacting them about this Judgement for payment, whats an acceptable payment they cannot refuse to accept etc0 -
And I respectfully suggest that that question is nothing to do with parking, but more to do with managing your finances.0
