Hello
I have recently left a full time job which I have earned £13k this financial year and have paid aprox £1600 tax so far ( based on a £32k salary)
My tax code = 1302M
I have now got a part time job paying approx £1k a month (11k salary) starting in November so will earn another approx £5 k this tax year , bringing total income to approx £18k
Just wondering how tax will be calculated on new job ?
Have ran a 18k Salary through salary take home pay calculator and tax payable is approx £1k and have already paid £1600
Thanks

Just make sure you get your P45 from your old employer and hand it in to your new employer.
Your new employer will then calculate your tax accurately each payday and make a tax refund each payday.
You can use the calculator below to check what you should be refunded on your first pay day at the new job.

You should check your figures as £1,600 tax on £13,000 pay with tax code 1302M seems very high. Or did you leave the old job a couple of months ago?0 -
What adjustments are in your code to take it up to 1302M.....although M is not a normal suffix, do you mean 1302L on a month 1 basis?
Are the adjustments still relevant in new job?0 -
M = Marriage Allowance received (N = Marriage Allowance given away)0

Seems too low to me, on a salary of £32K (perhaps you missed that bit) with a tax code of 1302M my calculator says tax is £316 a month, so even if the OP has only worked for 6 months that would be around £1900.0 -
I'm getting the following figures for £13,000 and code 1302M,
M07 = £1079
M06 = £1297
M05 = £1514
Month 5 is closest pay wise but that is still best part of £100 less than the £1600 quoted by op. Maybe op has been generous with some rounding of figures?
£13333 pay at M05 would be £1580 tax.
Hopefully op will return and confirm actual figures.0
