Pensions Advice Required

Dear Forum,
I have been in and out of employment for the past 20 years and not really paid any attention to the subject of pensions until now!
My question is, when I was employed, I was working for large companies where I was paying into pension schemes. On leaving those companies (3) what happens to the pensions I was paying into and is there anything I can retrospectively do now to a) resurrect them and b) how would I go about finding them and c) Would they have any value?
Thanks in advance for any guidance on this one!

c) Would they have any value?
You might be pleasantly surprised. There have been plenty of posts on here from people who have suddenly discovered a long forgotten pension and it has been worth a nice amount, either as a defined benefit pension or defined contribution "pot".0 -

These may well have been contracted out defined benefit pensions. These will have been revaluing in deferment according to certain formulae.
Even if money purchase, your pension will almost certainly have been showing investment returns.
You can contact the companies concerned or try here

Have you checked your state pension position?

It's surprising you have no paperwork from when you left these companies , or get any updates. Have you moved address without informing them maybe ?0
