HSBC Home Improvement Loan

Good evening,

My application for a home improvement loan has been accepted by HSBC. I am currently in the 7 day cooling off period. I am slightly confused about the process from here.

As I understood it, the legal side would be undertaken by HSBC's team, as part of the mortgage. Am i correct or would I need to instruct a solicitor to undertake the legal work.

Thank you in advance.

HSBC already hold the mortgage charge. Additional funds will be released under the terms of this.
  • Thank you for the reply.

I am the homeowner and the house does not currently have a mortgage so this would be new borrowing against the property. So HSBC don't already have a link to the property.

Sorry for not mentioning in previous message

Then you'll need to choose a solicitor on HSBC's panel to undertake the legalities.
