£5 off fuel when using the Esso app

I saw this offer this week in my PayPal offers feed & took advantage of it. It was pretty easy to do & it worked a treat so thought it was worth sharing!

There are a few steps to go through:
  • You need to 'save' the offer to your PayPal account first. (Google 'PayPal UK offers', or log in to your account)
  • You need to use the Esso App and pay using PayPal
  • You need to fill at least £10
  • Once you've filled you get a receipt in your email from PayPal which automatically deducts the £5 off the total spend.
Its a single use only offer, but still a decent saving. I also got 200 bonus Clubcard points as an introductory offer when I did it which was a nice extra!

Official MoneySavingExpert insert Tue 13 Nov:

If you download the Esso app and pay with PayPal (you’ll need to make sure you save the offer to your PayPal account), you’ll receive £5 off your fuel when you fill up £10 or more at an Esso forecourt. The app’s forecourt finder will locate your nearest participating station.

This offer is valid until Sat 24 Nov.

Big thanks to SimonB_78 for the spot!

  • I downloaded the app, linked it to PayPal and bought £15.00 petrol at an appropriate Esso garage, but my PayPal receipt shows I was charged the full £15 without the £5 discount. How do I get the discount?

Did you actually save the offer to your PayPal account before spending?
