Depends how cooperative the mother is likely to be. If she's willing then you can approach an accredited lab directly. There's a list on gov.uk
If she won't agree, tell her if she wants money from you she needs to go through CMS, then once the process is started dispute parentage with them and they can order a DNA test. There is a cost to you which would be refunded if you are not the father.
