Accessing my Talent Profile

Since raising a grievance last year against my boss I have been having a few difficulties. The latest being a Talent Profile discussion. I am a grade below management level but I have always been considered as Management capable, 1 or 2 grades above. Now he considers me at contributor level i.e. not management despite my performance not deteriorating in any way. This is important to me as other managers use the talent profile to look for candidates for other roles. I have spoke to a peer who was told he was considered management level. I believe it is clearly a spiteful thing the manager is doing.
How would you approach this?
Can I ask for a copy of what is on my talent profile (the manger's comments are not visible to me)?

Since raising a grievance last year against my boss I have been having a few difficulties. - yes that's what happens when you raise a grievance against your boss... what did you expect? The latest being a Talent Profile discussion. I am a grade below management level but I have always been considered as Management capable, 1 or 2 grades above. Now he considers me at contributor level i.e. not management despite my performance not deteriorating in any way. - but it's his opinion that matters, correct? This is important to me as other managers use the talent profile to look for candidates for other roles. I have spoke to a peer who was told he was considered management level.- What has that got to do with you? I believe it is clearly a spiteful thing the manager is doing.
How would you approach this? - you dont

You can ask, but I suspect that those comments are considered confidential.
In any case; you raised a grievance against your boss; so it was either something very serious, or you have no hope of progressing within that company.0 -

Frustratingly, not being treated fairly or equally does not contradict employment law, provided you are not discriminated against because of a protected characteristic.
It may be time to start looking for a new job, you are not going to go very far in this one!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Generally targets go up, rather than stay level. Good performance one year becomes mediocre the next year, and then poor the year after. Are you sure your performance is still at 'management level' or could it be you've dropped the ball?I believe it is clearly a spiteful thing the manager is doing.
Is there evidence for this or is this just a conclusion you have leapt to? If it's the latter it must be quite difficult managing someone who instantly leaps to the conclusion that any kind of negative feedback is part of some kind of vengeance mission. How would you approach this?
Well personally I would go to the manager and ask why they had given me the lower rating. I would say it's a worry for me because I had no idea I was performing poorly, ask why and what I could do, and then work with the manager to make an objective plan to go back to being considered the higher level.I expect to be treated equally and fairly and without malice
We must be posting from parallel universes then?! Why on earth would you expect that?0 -
As above, try and get your relationship back on track. Without knowing what the grievance was for we can only guess how much it has impact your career. Maybe your manager is concerned you'll raise another; maybe you were right, but being right isn't always a good thing!; maybe raising the grievance made you look like you aren't management material.
all are possible, talk to your manager, try and repair the damage. Or look for a new job.0
