What are the best driving jobs these days?
How does taxi driving compare with delivery driving?
Which is the best supermarket to do delivery driving for? Do they all pay about the same?

Formula 1 I expect.
Depends; what car you have for a start.
At the end of the day:
Taxi drivers make most money late on; with drunk people.
Delivery drivers have better hours; but get almost no time to do the job.0 -
Too much downtime in a taxi and the weekend late shifts not worth the hassle.
Depends what type of delivery driving you are considering?
If i was going to deliver for a supermarket it would have to be one that didn't deliver in congested areas with lots of flats0 -

Downtime is good as long as your being paid a good hourly rate, listen to podcasts or have a little nap.
I saw signs up at my local taxi place drivers wanted,
What is the average wage these for driving airport runs?
The only thing is you sometimes get women with not enough money offering you other servicesNothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -
Downtime is good as long as your being paid a good hourly rate, listen to podcasts or have a little nap. Taxi drivers are not employees. They get no hourly rate. You pay a base fee per week, are responsible for your own costs and in essence you earn what the council tariff allows
I saw signs up at my local taxi place drivers wanted, - ofcourse, they want their £100+ a week
What is the average wage these for driving airport runs? - £0.

Of course you do. It's funny how that actually never happens.0 -

No, that only happen in those films you watch on the internet.... right before the one with the plumber and the 2 blonde sisters...
Besides, if you watch that sort of thing, your eyesight won't be good enough for driving - makes you go blind you know....0 -
Train driving is reasonable money & good hours.0

Hmm, well I don't disbelieve that this may very rarely happen but you have to remember a few things:
1. A woman who can't afford a taxi fare (by taking out cash/having cash in pocket etc) is a pretty scatty person
2. A woman who offers their services, as apposed to merely "doing a runner" (students can get away with it if living in halls as they say "I'll run in for money, BRB" but then don't come back out), is also incredible scatty
3. The very real possibility of having your taxi firm/local council immediately suspending you a few days later as there has been an allegation of rape against you when the woman sobers up and regrets what happened. The resulting legal action and the potential outcome of you getting a few months/years in the slammer due to a stitch up, but with compelling evidence against you
4. The outright unglamorous scenario of getting a sexual favour in your taxi instead of at your home/hotel with a consenting partner
5. The potential STI/unwanted pregnancy (if you don't practice safe sex)
6. The fact that you have to pay your taxi rates BEFORE you earn money and, sadly, you can't pay your rates through giving your taxi firm sexual favours (I bet that sounds sordid to you? Yet a sexual favour with a female taxi passenger doesn't)0 -

Some might do - but not mine:rotfl: Sitting for 6 hours at Immingham dock waiting to get on a ferry at 04.00 in the morning:eek:
Tbh, most van driving these days is more regular hours, lot of multi drop work available.
If you want to invest around 3k to get your HGV license, you should be earning around 30k in two years. Mine are on target to earn well over 50k, but we do specialist Euro work.0 -

I think more people would do this if they had guaranteed work with a 'sponsor'.
Investing 3k in what is a single possible role (as opposed to a degree which can lead to many different roles) can be a tall order.
- however I do respect that truck drivers need to be committed and focused.
A woman was killed after being hit by a truck locally. Actually wasn't the drivers fault, but just shows how dangerous the vehicles are even at low speed.0
