Hi, does anyone know of any supermarket own brand baked beans which are actually Branstons? Thanks.

Have you tried adding brown sauce to any beans?I love branston beans, hate aldi beans, find them too sugary but if you buy Morrisons or Asda own brand and add some sauce you may be pleasantly surprised.

    I was.

I'm a convert to Waitrose own brand. Who'd have thought they'd be money saving. They're 4 tins for £1.10. They're only 400g tins but better value than any Branston prices locally (typically 3 for £1).

I like the Asda own brand beans, 4 for 98p as above.

Adding brown sauce is good for a change to the beans however something else worth trying instead - lightly fry some mushrooms in a little butter (only what you need) and then add in a tin of beans, makes for a very nice alternative to whatever brand of beans you like.

Thanks for all the replies. Taste is so subjective, but I might try out Asda and Waitrose beans to compare with Branston. I think Heinz do most of the supermarket own brand baked beans and just wondered if anyone had found out if Branstons did any other than just their own.

Well, Waitrose essentials is remarkably similar to Branston in taste and texture.
