Most competitions don't actual require a phone number, it is optional, so I only fill in the details they need.
Also if you tick the correct boxes you shouldn't receive that many nonsense calls.
I don't feel the need for another phone, I'd probably miss a winning call if I did have one. So no I just use my usual phone number.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
I have a cheap, basic phone that I use for comps, but it is also registered with the telephone preference service, which stops most junk calls, but still allows winning calls. I don't carry it around, it stays at home. I get maybe one cold call every few months, if that.
I like keeping my personal phone, well, personal, as in if I don't recognise the number, I don't answer.0 -
I think the live on air radio comps move on to another person if you don't answer, but I don't enter those.
Otherwise, they either leave a message or call back. If they don't, you can always google the number and see who has called and ring them if its comp related. But the vast majority of win notifications come by email, or just turn up unannounced. I think I've only had a few notifications by phone in 30 years of comping.0 -
I only every use a burner phone when I'm on the run. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Thank you all who post.0

I just use one and dont get any spam calls. Just keep an eye on the options boxes and opt out of marketing and you should be fine.0

What tubbss said. I've always used my own personal number and have never received any more spam phone calls than I did before I started comping and i've been doing it around 2-3 years now. Just pay attention to the boxes you are ticking and you'll be fine.0

I was gonna say, "Someone been watching Hunted on Channel 4"

Or Breaking Bad :rotfl:
Always used my actual phone. The scammy sort of calls I get I really don't think are as a result of comping.
As above, careful what you tick/sign up for. And stick to comps on here, not any ol' comp you find on the internet!2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0
