Panicking will this ruin my mortgage offer??

Options
I’m panicking and so worried.

I was due to pay my loan yesterday, I forgot to pay on time. Paid it at 8am this morning. Will this effect my mortgage offer I received with nationwide? My new build isn’t due to be ready until Jan/Feb/ March next year. I understand they will probably do another credit check at the time of sending the money. Will this completely ruin mine and my partners chance of having our dream home?

Is it worth calling the loan company and begging them not to record it?

You’ve paid within the month so don’t expect a problem here.

  • Thank you. I’m going to call them when they open at 10am, I’ve never missed a payment since I got my loan in 2014 so I’m so annoyed at myself. I over pay most months so it wasn’t even the full amount, do you think it’s worth calling them?
  • Panick over. They have a 7day grace period where they won’t record late payments.
  • consider a direct debit
  • good news, considering setting up a direct debit or standing order generally a day or 2 late isn't recorded but its not worth the worry

Why haven't you set up a direct debit or standing order ?
