'Reasonable' time for disciplinary decision?

I know that there isn't a time limit for a decsion after a disciplinary hearing and ACAS only state a reasonble time (work policy doesn't specify either) but I was just wondering how long these things tend to take?
Disciplinary was last Friday and we've heard nothing. They had said they wanted to deal with it quickly as the investigation has been going on for 4 months already. There were a lot of new witness statements that the investigators had failed to ask for so I know these would need to be considered now.
Just wondering if this is normal? At what point does it become unreasonable?

    No fixed answer but not for a long while yet!

    Presumably you are currently suspended but still being paid? Then the company could reasonably argue that you are not suffering any loss and that it is actually more in their interests to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

    If your work has a Disciplinary Policy, you should check what it says in that.
    You could always write to HR or the Chair of the panel and ask what for an update.

    It doesn't give a time in the policy... just a reasonable time.
    The union rep called and emailed yesterday but heard nothing back. Think she will try again on Monday.

    At my workplace, you would usually hear within 5 working days.
    If your work has a Disciplinary Policy, you should check what it says in that.
    You could always write to HR or the Chair of the panel and ask what for an update.
    A week is very little time at all. You don't start pushing for answers after this little time. Hearing last Friday... nobody did anything over the weekend. New statements to consider. And a posted response is at least a day. So I wouldn't start asking questions until after the coming Friday. Two weeks.

    I would think its more in your favour. Shows they really looking at it rather than going through the process because they have to but having already made the decision to dismiss you.

    Hope you get a decision soon though, the waiting must be very stressful.

    We're only 3 working days on from the date of the disciplinary hearing. There may be legal advice to be sought before a decision is made and that takes time. Can you ask HR, or whoever is responsible for the process, when they would expect a decision to be made?
