Another nail in my coffin

Quite apart from the loss of a customer and him owing me money, ive been a county council contractor for 10 years and for 9 years was always paid on the 14th of the month following my monthly invoice.... so id invoice end of September and get paid 14th of October...and so on..

last year HMG told all authorities that instead of paying suppliers on 14 days they should (or COULD) pay on 30 days from invoiced..

So ive just put in my October invoice and Septembers hasnt been paid...

How is this helping small businesses?

last December i waited for payment of Novembers invoice and it didnt land, the woman who should have authorised it went on holiday, so I got paid January 7th ..............Its amazing that im lending a county council £6000/month when they havent paid the last £6000.... and i get told i cannot withold services till another month has passed by

  • In your previous posts you seem quite amused that you’ve managed not to repay your debts. That being the case how can you possibly complain when someone does the same to you?

amused? more beyond worrying... but at least i can tell those ive not paid WHY ive not paid and they can chase the council for me

in fact, if i went BR the OR would go full tilt after them despite the council having "fines" for me not turning out..

now THATS funny cos going BR would mean the council instantly remove me from the contractors list and stop me working...

id be in no-mans land between the 2 and chucking grenades both ways.... BOOM

you may want to read over sticky, and this one in particular - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/443692/this-board-is-for-help-not-judgement

Going insolvent is not a thing most people go into lightly. It's generally at least a year of not having full control over finances, and many more of being judged when applying for credit.

During dark times of insolvency some people will cope with this with humor, and a touch of humor may help others get through the process.
  • Gallows humour...

as for being judged and finances, Jesus threw the money lenders out of the synagogue...
