Overpayment by employer

My employer has overpaid for 3 years a payment the told me I was entitled to...now they want thousands of pounds paid back to them...anyone know if I have a chance or arguing this

It's something that your HR manager needs to take up with the expenses department. You've been told that you're entitled to claim this, and you've reasonably relied upon the information given to you by expenses. It's not your fault if there's someone else in the wrong.
