Barclays sold my mum a 'fixed minimum rate mortgage'.
Never goes below 5% but has gone as high as a skyscraper in the last 45 years!
European court in Strasbourg ruled similar deals (Clausula Suelo), from Banks including Barclays, as miss selling in Spain & refunds have begun.
When are UK victims going to get justice?

Your mum has had a Barclays mortgage for 45 years?dementia_barclays wrote: »European court in Strasbourg ruled similar deals (Clausula Suelo), from Banks including Barclays, as miss selling in Spain & refunds have begun.
When are UK victims going to get justice?
Banks including Barclays and Santander face a €5bn (£4bn) bill after a Spanish court ruled that millions of fixed minimum rate mortgages were null and void because of the “lack of transparency” in the way they were sold during the property boom.

Whas there any lack of transparency involved with your mother?0 -

This post is purely on 'fixed minimum rate mortgages'
Whilst not outlawed, every one of these mortgages sold in Spain were deemed as being miss sold.
Can only presume they imagine, no-one would have bought them had they been explained. And only someone unsafe to make financial descisions or financially insecure, would have signed up, if told properly.
PPI had lots of supporters no doubt, when that 'product', came into question.0 -

Different country. Different regulations.
Irrelevant to any point you are trying to make.0 -
OP stop clutching at straws and sort your mother's house out for the repossession"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

As others have pointed out, whether or not there was "miss-selling" involved, the OP needs to deal with the "here & now".
Aside from the fact that the UK is leaving the EU and may no longer be bound by court decisions & precedent from Strasbourg, even if a class action for miss-selling this type of mortgage was started today, it could be a decade or more before any final decisions/pay-out.0 -
Any news OP ?0
