Not getting paid doubletime owed for overtime

Hi, basically in my place of work overtime is usually standard pay so the hours you work extra are paid at your normal rate per hour. Due to a busy period we were incentified by getting paid double pay for the overtime we did during this said period. The way it worked was we would get our normal overtime hours in our next normal wage (paid fortnightly) and then we would be paid another set of the worked hours during the time we get our commision (bonus) which is paid monthly. Due to a mistake by whoever is in charge of sending bonuses out only one of the 4 teams are being paid the doubletime that's due in the next wage and we've been told for the rest of us it may go into the next pay (in 2 weeks) but more than likely will be paid the next time we get commision in a months time. This doesn't seem fair or even legal and surely the employer should have to pay us as soon as possible as it's money we're owed. Where do we stand on this?

Any action you could take - which to be honest would end your job there - would take longer than the 6 weeks (if ive worked that out correctly) to get paid.Hi, basically in my place of work overtime is usually standard pay so the hours you work extra are paid at your normal rate per hour. Yes it’s breach of contract. But how did you know about this double time, did you sign for it?
Yes it’s not fair and you could bring it up with whoever is paying you (not sure what the business structure is like) but ultimately you are getting paid a decent amount of money for working overtime. As long a site a genuine mistake maybe bite your tongue?
That’s assuming they don’t have cash flow problems?0 -
"Fair" is irrelevant. "Legal" it is. There's no law that says something must be paid as soon as possible, and the employer is not indicating it won't be paid. You can ask nicely. That's about it.0

If the OP gets paid the overtime just before Christmas then that would be a bonus. Thats what I would be asking the employer.0
