Can I buy a MotorBike under my LTD Co?

I own a ltd company which is VAT registered. Looking to buy a Bike for occasional use. Can I buy it under my company and reclaim VAT? It will be parked at office address mostly.

    You can only reclaim the VAT on the proportion that is for business use. If the bike is for personal use then the BIK value needs to be charged to the user. I am sure your accountant will advise you.

    I run a security company (manned guarding) so am I allowed to buy a bike for my Supervisor to run around. He never visits the office so the bike will be kept either at his home address or a garage near Central London. Can I claim VAT on this?

  • Frankly, if you are running a business and you think you r accountant is rubbish, then get another one. A good accountant, with all of your relevant information in front of him/her, is going to be more beneficial to you than asking random strangers on the internet.
