Wow, just been getting addicted to this site!! I've halved my gorcery bill already:rotfl: . However, loads of people on here seem to shop for 3/4/5 people on 25 - 50 quid a week. I don't have a freezer and am just cooking for me, myself and I - I can't seem to get it below 25 a week (for cleaning stuff and food only) Any tips anyone??
I do have a larder, in which I seem to have accumulated 20 or so tins of flagelot and kidney beans. Don't know why as I have no idea what to do with them!! Again, any suggestions gratefully received!

Veggie or meat chilli ! I made a casserole last night which was lovely - freely adapted from the Times on Friday. Onion, pepper and chopped chorizo fried till soft, then I added chicken and pork chopped up (1 breast and 1 loin chop), a tin chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, red wine, a tin of butter beans, drained, 1 tsp dried thyme and 1tsp smoked paprika and 2-3 cloves garlic and I simmered it for about 45 mins. We had it with rice and it was really nice - the leftovers are going to make soup.
You could make a bean salad - I would warm the beans up in their liquid, then drain and add some vinaigrette. Leave to cool and add finely chopped onion, celery, sweetcorn, etc. The beans will soak up the dressing better if you warm them. This would make a nice lunch with a roll.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Pasta (and rice) is cheap to buy in bulk and you can put pretty much any veg/meat with it - it doesn't have to be boring tomato sauce! Being without a freezer is probably the hard bit as you couldn't buy things on offer (meats etc) or bulk cook many meals.0

For my bonfire party at the weekend I made Boston Baked Beans. I used pinto beans, and they were absolutely delicious.

Regardless of whichever of the above recipes you choose, I would suggest sewing weights into each corner of the duvet and leaving a window slightly open!

How about doing an audit of your larder, and then posting the list to see what is suggested?
To start you off, flageolet beans are great in cassoulet, with sausages & chopped tomatoes.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
