Hand held Blender - looking for recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for a great hand held blender please?
Our cheap Mr T’s one fell apart in style, prior to this we had a wonderful heavy duty one, which was either Braun or Kenwood, which lasted many years and owed us nothing. But we haven’t found one since that comes remotely close.
We use it heavy duty for making thick animal soups, animal foods and also bits and bobs for ourselves. I would love a properly made, feels like quality one that isn’t literally going to fall apart at our demands of it.:)

If you want a sturdy hand blender I would recommend Bamix, not cheap, but excellent

I think Bamix is the brand that I've often used in commercial kitchens, and they are real workhorses. It might be worth looking for a catering supply company and buying a proper professional one, they tend to be bit less pretty but a lot more robust than the ones designed for domestic use.0 -
I bought a 600W one for just 15 from Lidl and it has been going for years: for soups, smoothies etc. Prior to that I bought an Anthony Worral Thompson-branded cheapy and it didn't last long.
I doubt it would be any good for making nut butters but if its meringues you want to create, its fine.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I was given an elderly Bamix about 15 years ago, when a friend replaced hers with the bigger model. It's still going strong... and it doesn't get an easy ride here. It's in daily use, and things like nut butters feature strongly in what my DDs make for themselves. I have the money set aside to buy the bigger one myself if this one ever gives in!Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Another vote for Bamix. I recently replaced mine after about 30 years - for some reason it just stopped working. As soon as it stopped working I ordered a new one from Lakeland.

Thank you all, it looks like a Bamix is the one then. I will do a bit of reading up. I was wondering about the Kenwood but it seems the older ones may have been better.0

Bamix definitely - I use mine everyday - expensive to buy but you won't need another for many years.must say NO to impulse buys!GC March Challenge £182/200
