    Well done on clearing a huge chunk of the debt and kicking gambling also!

    My dad used to tell me "I've never met a poor bookie, I've seen hundreds of poor gamblers".

    The odds are always stacked against you, they wouldn't do it if they lost money :)

    this thread put a real smile on my face. well done on all counts

    do continue to put the money aside although loosening the belt a little can make that easier. remember pay yourself first

    having locked so much of your salary to paying off debt you are now in a better position than many who commit most of their salary on tosh.

    you may find some of the FIRE blogs and threads interesting (financially independent retire early) - particularly things like Mr Money Mustache (https://www.mrmoneymustache.com) who is pretty hardcore - but who is probably not far away from your level of saving
