Something from their childhood, spud gun springs to mind as something silly usually hits the spot.
  • Last year I got my boyfriend this: http://www.menkind.co.uk/mens-accessories-c113/health-grooming-c9/shaving-c76/li-lo-shower-shave-mirror-p110477 And it worked really well too!

The whole website (they have stores as well) is really good. So if you're stuck, you might some things a bit silly and random on there :)

Two of my uncles are like this, they have everything they want so buying for them is awkward, what ive started doing is buying them gifts from places like Firebox and Gadget shop, they always like what I buy them and there's no risk of them already having it as they dont go to places like that..
  • If the man in question has a hobby, then there's usually SOMETHING you can find!!!! My Dad, like my brother, aren't hard to buy for as such, but they do have everything they need or want, so I do have to be cunning finding gifts for them. My Dad has an allotment, he's only had it for about three years so there's still stuff I can buy for him, which is lucky. Last year I bought him a long cloche, with a choice of two removable covers, one clear plastic and one made of fleece and he was chuffed to bits with it. I've also bought him tools from the Wolf range - you buy one handle & the various attachments click in. I bought a handle that fitted the toolstore at the allotment so he could leave his gear there safely. Previous gifts have included a new set of two wrought iron patio chairs and a pretty table for 'tea for two' as their old set was rusting to pieces. Our neighbours are similar, we're all close friends and the husband again, has 'everything'!! This year we bought a nice stone birdbath which he seemed very pleased with. The previous year we bought a Sat-Nav (it was his 60th) and it was sort of a comedy gift as he's always getting lost and hates asking directions....!

Failing anything practical, booking a night at a lovely country house hotel with dinner/B&B is hard to beat as a nice treat. Or a years membership of the National Trust or similar organisation.

    Good Luck!!!
  • A little late I know, but I had the same problem with my father this year! After a lot of research I ended purchasing him a personalised newspaper football book which he loved!!

    personalisedgiftsolutions.co.uk/collections/football-newspaper-books

It shows over 100 years of newspaper articles from his favourite team, Brighton Hove Albion. However, they seem to have a book for nearly every team so a great idea if your father likes his footy...
