Spender to Saver - I want to be Debt Free before I'm 30!

Hey all. Sorry for radio silence again.
Christmas has been ridiculously busy and we are kind of in a bit of a mess again.
OH had to leave his job a couple of weeks ago due to workplace bullying. I wasn't comfortable watching him go through it so we both took the decision to leave the restaurant.
He has an interview today so hopefully this is something that will get us off to a better start for 2019!
We both overspent in areas for Christmas - completely blew the entertainment budget but we know that this has meant reconnecting with family and friends. We are not completely worse off, just about £200-300 due to overspending so it's nothing we can't claw back.
We are currently waiting for OH's final pay to come through and as it has not yet arrived, I'm getting a little jumpy about rent although this isn't due for another 3 weeks.
I hate uncertainty in my life and so this has been making me really anxious.
OH's Aqua payment messed up. I cancelled the direct debit about 6 weeks ago. I made the minimum payment last week but the direct debit still went out so although it's great that he has overpaid, it also sucks as that's part of the food shopping budget gone (and I don't want to spend it again).
I just feel like I lost control again over Christmas and now I'm trying to slowly regain it as we go into the New Year. I'll be a lot happier when I know OH's final pay is coming in and that he has something else lined up. We just need some breathing space this year!0 -
OH did not receive any final pay and we are going to be disputing this.
I think I've become resigned to the fact that debts are going to have to increase over the next couple of months for us to keep a roof over our heads while OH finds and settles into a new job.
It's so disappointing after working so hard before Christmas but as much as we have and still do cut back each week, there's only so much we can do with the money we have.
I'm feeling a little low about this at the moment especially with my balloon payment only 3 months away and I really hope that we find a way out of this financial hole in 2019. OH is doing the best he can to find something new and has applied for about 10 different jobs in the last week with an interview last week as well which we are waiting to hear feedback from.
My aim for the end of this year is to be in less debt than I am now, even if it's only £20.0
