    In one word, yes it's very common for a company car to be taken as and when the business dictates. Not sure on tax...I did read a thread once where someone had their car taken from them 3-4 times a week and she was still paying all the tax for a car she couldn't use 50% of the time. I think you need to add up how much benefit you are getting and perhaps get rid of the fuel card and put your own in a claim back or not complain if you are getting quite a nice benefit?

    Actually, the linked HMRC guidance suggests it depends on the time it's unavailable - it needs to be at least 30 consecutive days in any tax year, so in theory you both could be right, although the OP won't qualify.
