£20,000 Joint Loan Debt

My ex husband persuaded me to take out a £20,000 joint loan with him, in order for him to pay off all his existing debts. One month later he walked out on me leaving me with two young children.
We are now divorced and I went to see a solicitor and managed to get the family house put into my name, and taken off the loan.
He has recently called me and said that he is going to declare himself bankrupt (he has not paid off any of the loan.)
I was wondering whether they can now come after me, and possibly take my house.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That all depends how you were "taken off" the loan. If the loan was re-arranged with just your ex named and the house was trasnsferred into your name only officially and on the deeds then you are safe. If either or both were just an agreement between yourselves you had better go see your solicitor again.
Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.
Being hated by idiots is the price you pay for not being one of them.

Yes that sounds like good advice given the recent precident case where they were given permission to pursue a wife many years after a divorce.0
