My salary has increased by almost £10K pa.

My question is how long should I leave things before trying to apply for better lines of credit due to my improved circumstances?

Instead of looking at additional borrowing, use your pay rise to clear your current loan. Even if the extra £10k a year pushed you into the 40% tax band you will still see a net increase of £500 in your pay packet. You can keep your current living standards and clear the loan in 10 months.
