Please help!

hello there!

I am not new but have registered under a different name for reasons that may become apparent (although i havent posted here for a while).

i am in the process of divorcing my spouse. unfortunately - we accrued debts of approx £30K throughout our marriage (lasted less than 4 years) but all of these are in my name only. my spouse of course realising that there is no responsobility on their part to pay back any of these debts has skipped off quite happily leaving me to face the music.

i no longer live in the country, and am now working in europe. i have so far managed for the previous 6 months to pay everything back, but this month i have had to halve the payment to one creditor as i simply do not have the funds to meet all the full payments. so i am now at the start where i will begin to default. i have tried calling companies to explain and ask for their assistance / understanding but so far have had no luck.

am considering perhaps an iva or bankruptcy - but as i no longer live in the country not sure how this woudl work. or is there a better option? it is highly likely that my spouse will never accept any responsiblity so i cannot consider assistance fm that direction as an option. therefore i have to find some way of dealing with this now before it spirals out of control. the last thing i want is to be irresponsible and accrue defaults etc.

any advice greatly appreciated please!

Hello! I would give CCCS or payplan a call and talk through your options with them. You know that they will give you impartial advice which may help you see your options a bit clearer.
