In Tesco, I saw a little wooden train - which has 24 little wooden draws which you fill with your own little gifts. It was only £4.99 too, which I thought was a good price.

A couple of years ago we got ones from Matalan, which are in teh shape of Santas face and you move the santa stick (or fill a pocket) each day. We have had them for about 3 years now and they are still going strong.
Our youngest has a dairy allergy too..0 -

Oh these are lovely! I agree with you I love the old-fashioned picture calendars but it is very hard to find them these days so thank you for the link.
When I was a child, with great excitement each year, my parents would bring out the same advent calendar with the windows stuck shut! I didn't realise you could buy a new one every year til I was much older!:rotfl:0 -
I was in Sainsburys yesterday and i saw a great calender. It was a big pack of Diet coke (can get normal full fat coke too) and on the back of the big box was an advent calender. Everyday you could win a prize or get money off etc. Was £7.99 so bit pricey just for coke, but was a pack of 24 and you could win great prizes!!!
Think i'll get a full fat one for my OH. Plus a choccy one of course, or he'd only open mine and eat them!!!0 -
