Finding my way through the money jungle of debt

Really impressed with how proactive you're being. And well done you on calling.
I think we have got to a point where most things are online. I'm sure you can manage most of your debts with emails or online chat. Don't be overwhelmed. I always opt for online. You can get around it. Plus with online you have proof of what was said. You can definitely do this. You're taking control of every aspect and this is the last piece of the puzzle.
Maybe get your debts listed out and we will tick them off with you
An soa or statement of affairs is where you list out your incomes and expenditures. There's a link to a great one on the debt free wanabee page which everyone likes as it pushes you think of every thing that you usually forget. XxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800

I have put the link to the soa on my post above. As Kitten says it is a good start to budgeting and if you decide to contact stepchange they will ask for one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thank you. I will put doing my soa on my to do list.
So on to today... I had a huge to do list, including loads of school work and and things to try and get my flat in order. I didn’t get any of that done but I did make 3 phone calls. I procrastinated for a while and then plucked up the courage. So I phoned the council about my council tax debt and made an arrangement with them. I then sorted my car insurance, followed by my prescription debt. I did all 3 one after the other. I heart was beating like the clappers but I did it; although I had a little cry after but I think that was through relief more than anything.
Other than the washing up, that was all I managed so tomorrow I really need to crack on with school work.
Oh I went to deliver my phone to the chap who wanted to buy it but I got lost and after 20 minutes of driving around, I gave up and came home. So I still don’t have the £50 for that and CEX didn’t ring me either.
Feeling positive and quite proud of myself - I know it was only 3 phone calls but to me that was a big thing to do.0 -

Congratulations on making the phone call to the council - that's the debt you really needed to sort and it must have been a scary call to make :beer:0
