in Cutting tax
Hi,
I have recently taken on a second job, my annual salary from both jobs put together will not be more than £10,000 and both jobs are roughly the same amount salary. Can anyone tell me if I still have to pay the 20% tax on my second job and if not, how I go about making sure I dont get extra taxed.
Thanks

Tell HMRC and they will split your personal allowance so that you don't pay tax on either job. It's best to call early in the morning to avoid queueing.0

Don't bother ringing them until you have been paid by your new employer for the first time though. Or at the very least they have processed their payroll with you included.
HMRC will only change your tax code once they have received details of your new job. You can check what each employer has sent to HMRC on your personal tax account on gov.uk.0
