Do De-Bobblers Work?

Do these de-bobbler things really work for the long term?
Or do they just ruin clothes?

    Yes they do work.

I have only had one almost destroy a jumper because I pressed too hard and the jumper had a loose knit and so it chewed the wool and made a break in the knit. But if I don't press down too hard, it's all fine.

Some items will bobble repeatedly, others will bobble once then not again for many wears. It's not so easy to work out what will happen to a jumper in every case, obviously the looser the wool or yarn, the more likely to bobble, but that isn't to say that tight knit or weave or even felt type fabrics wont bobble.

It is IMO generally better off to de-bobble and see how long it lasts before it needs a repeat and then deciding if it's worth the hassle before giving up before you've even tried.
